Western Europe

Athens, Greece

The last stop in Western Europe on my dream trip is Athens, Greece. From London, United Kingdom, to Athens, Greece, the distance travelled is approximately 2389.21 Km. I visited Athens, Greece for a couple of days from July 6th - 11th, 2012. The flight time is 3 hours and 40 minutes flown direct. The cost for this is approximately $444 for a one way trip to Athens, Greece, from London, United Kingdom.

Royal Olympic Hotel

Royal Olympic Hotel

While staying in Athens, I stayed at the Royal Olympic Hotel at a price of $158 per night. This hotel is really sophisticated and original, and is in walking distance from restaurants and shops.

Acropolis Museum

Acropolis Museum

While visiting Athens, I visited many of the popular attractions within Greece. I visited the Acropolis Museum which holds important ancient Greek statues and artifacts. This museum helps you learn and understand the history in Greece.

I then visited the Acropolis, which is the most famous site in all of Athens. Acropolis lies in the center of the city that takes you back to the way Greece was back in the day, the old Athens.

Hephaistion Temple

Hephaistion Temple

Within my stay, I visited the Hephaistion Temple, which is an ancient Greek temple, dedicated to the god of the forge and is one of the few temples to be almost entirely preserved. This temple is located on a hill and gives you a terrific view of the city.

National Gardens

National Gardens

The National Gardens is another place I visited, and I can honestly say i've never seen anything like it. This beautiful scenery has many benches for picknicking, cafes, duck ponds, and a small zoo. This is the perfect place to relax and have a break from traffic noises and crowds. It is a way to escape for a while and just appreciate everything, including the world we live in today.

Allou Fun Park

Allou Fun Park

A good place to have fun and feel like a kid again is at the Allou Fun Park. There is a lot to experience and is the best amusement park in Greece. It is kind of small compared to others, but just as fun. It was a fun way to end off my experience in Athens, Greece.
