Western Europe

London, United Kingdom

The second stop in Western Europe on my dream trip is London, United Kingdom. From Sao Miguel, Portugal, to London, United Kingdom, the distance travelled is approximately 1285.71 Km. I was in London for the week of June 30th - July 5th, 2012. The flight time is 6 hours and 5 minutes if flown direct, but there are no direct flights so i had a two-stop flight that stopped in Funchal, with a layover time of 21 hours and 5 minutes, and in Lisbon with a layover time of 1 hour and 35 minutes, arriving in London with a total flight time of 28 hours and 45 minutes. The cost for this is approximately $537 for a one way trip from Sao Miguel, Portugal, to London, United Kingdom.

Millennium Hotel London Mayfair

Millennium Hotel London Mayfair

While visiting London, I stayed at the stylish Millennium Hotel London Mayfair that is less than 500 metres from the shops on Oxford Street. I stayed here for a price of $362 per night. The hotel is very elegant and located central to all site-seeing attractions.

Wallace Collection

Wallace Collection

While visiting London, I toured areas within that could be considered tourist attractions. I visited the Wallace Museum which is a national museum of the art Lady Wallace owned in 1897. Some of the artwork within is breathtaking and beautiful.

Big Ben

Big Ben

The next place I visited was big and beautiful, known as Big Ben. Big Ben is one of the main attractions/landmarks that London is famous for.

The London Eye

The London Eye

Another main attraction is the London Eye. The London Eye gives you a new perpective for the city as you can see it high in a Ferris-wheel.

Oxford Street

Oxford Street

If you love shopping, you must visit Oxford and Regent Street. These two streets have the best shops for shopping. If you visit, it is advised to bring someone to help remove you from shops because it will be hard to leave and all your money will be gone in one shot! I learned that the hard way.

Changing The Guard

Changing The Guard

The last place I visited and the most popular attraction England is known for is the changing of the Guard. The changing of the guard. The changing of the guard is a must see in London. This only takes place daily from May to July, otherwise on alternate days, so be sure to check the schedule ahead of time and plan accordingly!
