South America

Caracas, Venezuela

The next stop on my dream trip is also located in South America and is Caracas, Venezuela. From Nassau, Bahamas, to Caracas, Venezuela, the distance travelled is approximately 1958.39 Km. I visited Caracas, Venezuela from June 9th - 15th, 2012. The flight time is 5 hours and 13 minutes if flown direct, but there were no direct flights so i had a one-stop flight that stopped in Panama, and the layover time was 7 hours and 8 minutes making the total flight time 12 hours and 21 minutes. The cost for this is approximately $646 for a one way trip from Nassau, Bahamas, to Caracas, Venezuela.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Caracas Hotel

Embassy Suites by Hilton Caracas Hotel

While staying in Caracas, I stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Caracas Hotel at a price of $389 per night. This hotel is located central and equal distance to all the main attractions.

The view in the Teleferico

The view in the Teleferico

While visiting Caracas, I visited a couple of historic sites, and a couple of tourist attractions. The first attraction I was drawn to was the Teleferico. The Teleferico is a cable cart that allows you to see most of Caracas from high above and from different perspectives. There is really nothing like the view and excitement you get for being so high up. If you do not speak Spanish, it is recommended to find a local who speaks English because it is very hard to locate someone there who speaks English to help translate.

Paseo De Los Proceres

Paseo De Los Proceres

Another place visited is the Paseo De Los Proceres, which is a park of monuments to Venezuela's national hero's and also has trees, gardens and artwork incorporated into the landscape. It is beautiful to see during the day, but i recommend to go in the evening because it just feels more special and relaxing, and i believe that i appreciated the art and beauty of it the second time i went in the evening rather than the first time i went during the day.

Angel Falls

Angel Falls

One of the more famous places in Venezuela, not located in Caracas is the Angel Falls. This beautiful waterfall is 16 times the height of Niagara Falls. This tour can be done by boat or helicopter, it all depends on preference.

Balneario Camuri Chico

Balneario Camuri Chico

The very last spot visited in Caracas was the Balneario Camuri Chico, which is a public beach. It is a way to relax as they have sweets, drinks and small local shops to visit.
