Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The next stop in Asia is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From Bangkok, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the distance travelled is approximately 1183.11 Km. I visited Kuala Lumpur from July 18th - 25th, 2012. The flight time is 2 hours and 10 minutes flown direct. The cost for this is approximately $141 for a one way trip from Bangkok, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
While staying in Kuala Lumpur, I stayed at the marvelous Prince Hotel Kuala Lumpur at a price of $106 per night. The hotel is beautiful and very spacious and was a thoroughly pleasant experience.
While visiting Kuala Lumpur, one of the places I visited were the Petronas Twin Towers. The towers are an impressive icon for Kuala Lumpur and are visible from everywhere in the city. The views from inside the towers are amazing and so defined. The best time to go is around 6 or 6:30 to see the sunset from the horizon line.
The next tower I visited was the Menara Kuala Lumpur tower which is the seventh tallest communication tower. While not as famous as the Petronas Towers, the view is still iconic.
One of my favourite places I visited, me being a shopoholic and all, was the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The city centre has shopping, a movie theatre, and many restaurants. You feel really safe in the mall, and the prices are not as high as in Singapore, meaning you are getting good deals.
A place I visited that is also used for Hindu festivals and pilgrimages is the Batu Caves. This is a natural limestone cave and is very pleasent and cool inside. The climb leading upwards may be intimidating, but once you climb it, you see that it was worth it. This cave has different religious statues within, and it is quite interesting and unique to see.
The last place I visited while staying in Kuala Lumpur is the Thean Hou Temple. This Chinese temple was dedicated to the Queen of heaven, Thean Hou. The stunning temple is very calm, and is a beautiful place to get great pictures! This is one of the best temples you will find in Kuala Lumpur. The silence relaxed my body physically and spiritually, and was unlike anything I ever experienced.
